SAFETY HARNESS

A safety harness is a vital personal protective equipment (PPE) used to protect workers from falls and other potential hazards in various industries, especially those involving work at heights. The harness is typically made of durable webbing straps and buckles and is designed to distribute the impact force evenly throughout the body in the event of a fall.

Safety harnesses consist of shoulder straps, chest straps, leg straps, and a dorsal attachment point at the back. The dorsal attachment point is where a lanyard or lifeline is connected to secure the worker to an anchor point, preventing them from falling to the ground.

When properly worn and used in conjunction with other fall protection systems, such as lanyards and anchor points, safety harnesses play a critical role in minimizing the risk of serious injuries or fatalities for workers in elevated or hazardous environments.
