PUTLOG COUPLER

A putlog coupler, also known as a single or single coupler, is a type of scaffolding coupler used to connect putlogs or transoms to the ledger or horizontal scaffold tubes. It is a fundamental component in scaffolding systems, allowing for the safe and secure attachment of horizontal elements to vertical standards or vertical scaffold tubes.

The putlog coupler consists of two clamps connected by a central bolt or rivet. Each clamp holds one scaffold tube securely, while the central bolt or rivet enables the clamps to be tightened or loosened for assembly and disassembly. One side of the putlog coupler is designed to fit over the ledger or horizontal scaffold tube, while the other side is shaped to hold the putlog or transom firmly in place.

During scaffold assembly, putlog couplers are used to connect putlogs or transoms horizontally between the vertical standards or scaffold tubes. Putlogs are short horizontal tubes or boards that act as support for the scaffold boards or working platforms. By using putlog couplers, the putlogs are securely attached to the ledgers, creating a stable and safe working platform for construction or maintenance tasks at elevated heights.
